As of now :))

Exams ended just last Tuesday, exactly a week today and it feels as if it has been a month already. I have done quite a few things since then which includes:
- Attending 2 days In-The-House program let by Pastor Shawn and it was just so refreshing and good. What really impacted me the most would be a few things which are:
The Video on Spirit of Leadership by Dr Myles Munroe.
In the video, I was quite astounded by what he has to say. To begin with, he stated that you cannot teach leadership, it is called and not taught. And how to know that we are called? It’s in the attitude and our belief system; our mindset. No one can live beyond the limit of their belief. A leader is like an eagle, they do not flock with their kinds, they fly above alone; they do not flock like the pigeons. And when the storm comes, instead of hiding or flying away, the eagle embraces the storm soaring even higher than the rest. A leader is not judged by how many followers (s)he has, but rather, a leader would still continue to lead despite the fact that there are NO followers at all. And a true leader focuses on making leaders and not maintaining followers. You would know that a true leaders succeeds in what (s)he does when (s)he leaves and the group/ company still survives without them!
Wow right? There are so much more but these are a few that really spoke to me. I wondered whether I would have continued doing what I do if there were no followers. It made me think. Also, we complaint so much about problems and how trials burdened us and make us tired and sick of life. Wow, talk about the words spoken by a follower! A leader would be so happy to see trials and tribulations thinking that now is the time to rise above to another level of faith and a step higher in life! The words I speak! My oh My!
The best yet? True leader becomes one with ownself. They do not try to become like someone else but rather they embrace who they really are. It is not about proving anything to anybody, it is about being yourself! I really like that! And he goes on to talk about humility which comes from the word Humble; Hum – Humus(in Greek) which means dirt/ earth. To be humble is not to shrug and put off when people compliments you(like most asians) but to thank them and accept that you are good at it. That doesn’t mean that we boast though. Also, when you are sure with yourself, when people ask for singers or help from a certain skillful group, we can step out and volunteer instead of the usual, “me? oh nolah, I’m not THAT good. Nolah, nolah.” which leads to -_-!! because in actual fact you CAN do it well, but because of your belief about humility, the response is otherwise. So when we are certain about ourselves, we can step up and continue to serve and bless people with what we are good at.
The session by Pastor Timothy
2 Timothy 2:20 In a large house there are not only utensils made of gold and silver, but also those made of wood and clay. Some are for special use, while others are for ordinary use.
Pastor talked about God’s cycle in our life where there are 4 stages; Invitation, Preparation, Placement and Testing. In each stages, there will be our obedience in obeying what God has called us to do. I manage to identify and be clear to what my next step is and I am so glad to be able to step up and move on in my spiritual walk with God. They are of course a few more things that I need to do in preparation for my placement. Teehee! Oh and did you know? To be a leader, you must be a reader(and in this case, not just the bible!)
The session by Alex
Here he talked about how God speaks to us and one of it is through Prophecy. He asked us to recall the prophecies in our lives and write it down in the notes he gave to us. When I go home and did the “homework”, I am amazed with God’s word for me. I had two prophecies in my journey since my re commitment 3 years ago and both speaks true for the life I live today. To be a youth leader and to worship; and also to intercede for people. This reminds me to be careful in my everyday journey so that I can be certain that I am living the life God has intended me to live. It reminds me why I do the things I do today; to serve God and to glorify His name! I also enjoy speaking words to the live of others, to tell them of what God wants them to know and it makes me so happy that God is using me as a vessel to speak words to different individuals! The joy is amazing!
The friendship build within church members
More than just learning, we had a good time of bonding as well, through the words spoken to one another and just sharing lives and the the different journey each of us are at. We laughed so much and shared and prayed for one another. This is what it means to have spiritual family and I am so blessed to have so many!
Truth is, I wanted to write about so many other things including the best friend who came and visit, the friends who come to my place and play since after exams, the orientation I did yesterday, Fish’s visit back here on the weekend, the awesome movies I watched but I wrote so long I have to keep the rest for another day. Teehee!
Till here for today!
p/s I am finally at home resting after all the hectic but fruitful outings I’ve had since my last paper. I am planning to live a loud and fruitful life in this 3 months of holidays! As for now, it’s time to do the miscellaneous stuff; like my overloaded laundry and the cleaning of my room!
Toodles!
