Happy happy birthday daddy! Another year older but you’re all so wise already so it really makes no difference how old you ever get! Teehee!

Today as I spoke to you on the phone, I am reminded of how amazing you are in so many ways.

How very simple of you to always appreciate all the small things in life that when mummy wants to bring you out for lunch date, all you wanted is a simple kolo mee bowl; knowing that what really matters to you is not where mummy brings you, but the fact that you are there with her. Though in the end you guys end up somewhere else! Hee!

And how humble and full of selflessness that when I ask if you’re happy, the first thing that you say is that if all of your children is happy, you are happy too.

I was astounded, speechless. Daddy, you have a huge heart of gold!

And how approachable you are that I can sit there in the library whispering and giggling on the phone talking to you without any restrain knowing that you love me for who I really am and that I can talk to you about everything and anything; and you really listen. Thank you daddy for listening to me bicker about life and love me still.

What touches me so much more is that you love God and how when we talk, you will tell me that God is Almighty and He has a great plan and that you trust Him. When I see you trust God so much, I know I do too. What you believe would be what I would believe. And I know this God is real.

Most important of all however, I will always remember, is that at the beginning of this year, when I lie so helplessly on my bed, begging for my lungs to breathe with tears flowing endlessly and almost giving up life once again; daddy, you held me close to you, carried me in your arms, let me cry and tell me that I can. When you said I can, I truly believe with all my heart and soul that I truly can. But more than that, daddy, at that very moment, I know that God has given me the greatest blessing of all; you.

Thank you daddy for everything. Words cannot tell you how much I love you. I really really love you!

I’m sorry I can’t be there for your celebration tomorrow night; but I know all of you will have so much fun karaoke-ing! I wish I am there but it’s okay! We’ll do it again when I come back?

Like I said on the phone daddy; you must live a long long life okay? Cos I still need you so much in my life! And for mah future man, you have to pray harder so that you can walk me down that aisle! Teehee! Pray that he’ll be like you!

Happy happy birthday daddy! You are the bestest in the whole wide world! And I am so glad that no matter how old I grow, I can manja with you and lie on your lap while watching tv, disturb and bite you and you’ll not get annoyed and most important of all, I can share my life with you and you’ll truly care.

Went to Miri 3 days prior to Chinese New Year since we’ll be celebrating this new year with a reunion with relatives from mummy’s side of the family.

Went to airport early morning with mummy and Jessica cause Daddy’s went earlier since he was on traveling for work purposes and Chae would only go a day before CNY due to work. I have tons of pictures in my camera but I left it all in Kuching thus these pictures here are taken from YingYing’s(yes my cousin with the same chinese name as me) DSLR.

Arrived in Miri at 9am in the morning and went straight to breakfast with my uncle, his family and some aunties. The food was good but I already ate so much in the plane and breakfast at home thus I did not have anymore food. Teehee! Must fit into cheongsam that’s why cannot eat so much!

Went to watch a movie with the cousins on the first day we arrived and then dinner at night. It was really rest and relax on the first day here.

On the second day, the uncles took us to visit their fruit farm.

At night we had dinner at the poolside with this amazing view to feast our eyes on

And we celebrated birthdays too!

It was a good day out meeting new people and catching up with old friends. We all had such a wonderful time just running around and enjoying the lovely view in Lakeview Garden. (Okay lah, I didn’t really ran around and all. lols! ) Then we went over to Damansara Perdana to have dinner and talk somemore. Louis got lost and we went all the wrong way making all the wrong turns before finally arriving in the dinner place. I was starving! Teehee! But all was good! Though the night ended wet cause of the heavy downpour, still it was truly memorable to all squeeze under one hut to sing birthday songs and celebrate birthdays! All after our dinner of course! God’s timing is wonderful! Teehee! I truly had fun that very day! More outdoors events are good really what with the many students claiming to have muscle ache the very next day! Haahaa! Young people these days need more exercise! Loves!

Just came back from my Lifegroup and today’s topic was about boy-girl-relationship. One quote really hit me to the core; when you love someone, you give everything you can give and without expectations, because, the moment there are expectations, there will be disappointment and it leads to pain. So true indeed. Being in love means wanting to just give all you can give because you love. I really like that.

I also really enjoyed today’s class in school. My lecturer is really a hilarious person and he makes class so much more fun than it could have been! I am really glad! Oh, not forgetting funny classmates too!

I count them all the time. Small ones that makes life worthwhile.

As I doing my devotion yesterday, I reread the famous Psalm 23.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

¹ The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

² He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,

³ He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.

⁴ Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

⁵ You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

⁶ Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

When we first read about still waters and green pastures, we immediately think of the wide open meadow of lush greenery beside a cool clear lake. We are transported to a place that paints picture of peace and tranquility.

Did you know that when David wrote this Psalm, he however was writing from his own experience as a shepherd in the avid and rocky hills of the Middle East.

During that time, green vegetation was scarce, and water was so hard to find.

As a shepherd, David’s job was to guide the sheep to tiny morsels of vegetation that were sprouting among the dry rocks.

Honestly, the sheep depended on David totally for each bite.

Even the small sip of water that ensures the sheep survives; might only be a little puddle.

If the sheep wandered and didn’t stay together and close to this shepherd, they might not get what they needed to survive.

The words of this famous Psalm take on an even deeper meaning when you picture a dry, desert landscape instead of lush greenery.

Our lives often seem more like hot, dry places than lush, emerald fields.

Yet, it is during those desert times that we learn what it means to need the grace of God in every step.

With the words of Psalm 23, God is promising us that He will guide us to each new morsel of hope and each small pool of contentment, if we will only follow Him closely.

Grace makes even the smallest piece of vegetation seems like lovely green pasture.

The next time you read Psalm 23, try picturing a dry Palestinian hillside.

And remember that no matter how rough the terrain of your life, with the Lord as your Shepherd, you can look forward to His goodness and love all the days of your life.

Had this really impromptu trip up to Genting last Friday night with the housemates and the housemate sister and cousin!

I was a bit scared since it was pretty late at night but they were soooooo crazy wanting to go up and since I went up before and remembered it being rather ’safe’; in no time, I was changing and next thing I know, we’re already on the way up!

The flowers were really pretty albeit at night! I always thought flowers go to sleep when we sleep too! Haahaa! I guess only morning glory does that!

We went into the casino and funnily one of us were actually underage! The guard stopped Helene and her sister(cos they both look so young! how come they never stop me i dunno i look even younger cisciscis! and i totally did not bring my ic -story later) and after less than 5 minutes of ‘pretty please’ and bashing of eyelashes, the guard so kindheartedly let us in! Imagine if we were not allowed in! Then we would have nothing to do there!

First thing we did was get the free milo! Haahaa! We are so tamak I know hush now. I had teh tarik though! It felt really good in the freezing cold weather! I was wearing long sleeve plus long sweater and scarf around me neck! I have no tolerance for cold I tell you! rawr!

Then we tried gambling! Oh don’t worry! I didn’t even spend a lot on it! I have no talent in gambling and lost mind you so I simply tried for the fun of it! It’s really statistic and pure luck I tell you! (I am horrible in statistics and luck is seriously not on my side too! hahahaha!) Bee lost too! She was even more okay with it cos she has this genting card n gambling a bit help her earn a room for free! So worth it! And yes, Helene and PeiLing both won! Lols! Btw, I tried to take picture in the casino but I coward out! Lols! So no pics in the casino lorh!

Then shortly afterwards, we moved on to happier place ie McDonalds! Bee and I shared food cos it was so late. and cannot eat anymore cos have to diet for chinesenewyear must fit into cheongsam. Then not enough so we went to Coffee Bean until everyone’s happy as a bumble bee!

Reached home at 6 am my goodness! Thank God we’re all safe and sound! Thank you Darren for driving so safely!(He cannot not drive safely because 4 girls in the car kept telling him to be careful! He had like 8 extra pair of eyes watching out for him! Haahaa! but also the road was quite good! and there were MANY cars on the way up! everyone no need to sleep isit?)

This kinda trip is for crazy moments! Honestly, I truly enjoyed myself. It felt really good and liberating!

Oh yes, the ic story… You see, me being me, I was so nervous going up Genting at such an unearthly hour I dropped my IC outside my house at the side of the road. I noticed I did not have my IC with me in the toilet before going into Casino. Lucky I look so old no need to check my IC! Then when I got back, I looked outside the pathway and ta-da! There it was! My beautiful face on the IC! Teehee! Story of my life! But thank God all is well!

I am happy.
